Over the years she has discovered that, more than just a passion, expressing her emotions through <strong>singing </strong> has become a vital need. <br /> <br /> As a teenager she was a huge <strong>Motown </strong> fan ; her favorite pastime was singing songs by exceptional artists that she had learned by heart ( <em>Stevie Wonder </em>, <em>Diana Ross </em>, <em>Lionnel </em><em>Ritchie </em>, to name a few...). During this period she also discovered the immense talent of <em>Tina Turner </em>, <em>Whitney Houston </em>, <em>Brenda Russel </em> : even as a teenager, she <strong>identified </strong> strongly with the world of <strong>Soul Music </strong>. <br /> <br /> The day she finally got the courage to sing before a live audience marked the start of a <strong>unique adventure </strong>. Her close friends gave her the encouragement she needed to take the plunge, and little by little her musical commitment took on a more serious nature. This lead to her first gigs as backup and lead singer for various groups(Jazz-Soul and World Music). <br /> <br /> In 1996 she met <strong><em>Laurence Apithy </em></strong>(pianist and artistic Director). This encounter marks a <strong>crucial </strong> turning point in <strong>M-Cee </strong>'s career, when she first started training as a <strong>professional artist </strong>. Her countless lead performances in numerous concerts - gospel, blues, jazz and soul - with the group " <strong><em>Soul System </em></strong>" have helped <strong>M-Cee </strong> discover and develop her <strong>true vocal identity </strong>and her sense of <strong>communication with the audience </strong>. <br /> <br /> For <strong>8 years </strong> her experience as a stage performer was rigorously tested and reinforced, singing at festivals, private parties, brunches and live concerts. This period is captured in the album " <em>Les Voix Sacrees </em>" (Flg Productions) <br /> <br /> Today <strong>M-Cee </strong> performs solo, keeping in touch with her original musical influences(with an orientation towards <strong>jazz and soul </strong>).
